1 Find your radio serial number

Honda has two ways of retrieving the radio serial number, depending on the year of your vehicle.

Type 1 — for 2001 and newer Honda vehicles

  • Turn the key to the "on" position.
  • Press preset buttons 1 and 6 at the same time.
  • Turn on the radio.
  • An 8- to 10-character serial number will appear on the display — usually U5123 L1235 format, sometimes 8 digits like 12345678.
  • Write it down — you'll need it for the order form.

Type 2 — for 2000 and older Honda vehicles

Older Honda models require you to remove the radio to read the serial number on its label.
